People say that we are the best at pickles, although we say we
are as good in all our food. We view pickles as a food catalyst, which speeds up the food
consumption. Now, this is becoming too scientific, isn't it? Well, pickles can either be
used as an appetizer, or a media that enhances our taste buds during eating.
Basically,
our version of pickles refer to fresh fruits and vegetables, preserved in salt,
mustard oil and vinegar with spices.
The typical Bengali pickle tastes
sour and hot/sweet. Most pickles are hot and some are spicy, while two of them are sweet.
Pickles are best used with traditional Khichuri, Rice and Meat &
Vegetable
dishes. Actually, it can be taken with anything, used mainly to add a taste of the great
